Biography

She completed her classical ballet training at the Staatsoper in Hamburg, Germany. Her first engagement was at the Zurich Opera House. A back problem ended her career as a classical ballet dancer.

She moved to Canada and studied at the Canadian Academy of Acting as well as at The Royal Canadian Conservatory in Toronto. After completion of her studies she appeared in theatre and television roles and advertising films.

Canada remained many years her home away from home. She appeared in all the big musical theatres from Vancouver to Montreal and Toronto. She was the host in the well known musical show "The German Carousel" on channel 47 MTV in Toronto. The Canadians loved and knew her well as "Cathrine Wayne" in the series the "Beachcombers" 

Because of private circumstances she had to return to Germany.

It took a little time after her return home, but soon she was embraced by the German film and TV industry and appeared on theatre tourneys with well known stars like Pierre Brice, Rainer Maria Wilke, Christiane Krüger, Theo Gärtner and worked under the direction of Jürgen Roland, Peter Weck, Sabine Hoffman and Manfred Seide, just to mention a few. Her first single album "Sambesi" with Klaus Bogartz was produced at that time as well.

Since she dreamed all her life to live in Spain she moved to Andalusia. She appeared in guest spots at the theatre in Fuengirola and Malaga. She also choreographed musicals for various theatres in Andalusia as well as for German TV productions.

Later she moved from Andalusia to Majorca, an island off the coast of Barcelona, where she get her inspiration to write her songs and where she paints as well.

In 2005 she produced her first  CD "FREI ZU SEIN" followed  by her second CD "NUR MIT DIR" in 2007  Her new album "ICH WEISS,WAS ICH WILL" with the best songs written and sung by MARIE VELL just has been released in March 2009 in Munich.
